As It Seems: A Chill Semester
Right-wing Televangelist/City Councilman and Absolved Murderer.
Adrian and Carolyn Scoresby married in 2000, by 2003 they had created a media empire out of a small television ministry. As their political careers rose, 2012’s scandal with Mrs. Scoresby created a schism in their marriage that had harsh repercussions for Scoresby’s 2012 run for State Assembly.
The Scoresby Trial
In Fall 2013, Scoresby was bound in court proceedings following the disappearance of his wife Carolyn and their two sons, Brendan and Marcus in March earlier that year. Ten weeks of witness testimony and circumstantial evidence proved insufficient to indict Scoresby, who all the while held to his story and pleaded his innocence. The jury deliberated for three days before returning a not guilty verdict, and Scoresby went free.
Since then he has remained a local figure, publicly attending Alcoholics Anonymous and offering a standing reward of five million dollars to anyone who could find information leading to the discovery of his missing family. In 2016 he ran for his seat on the City Council and won in a landslide victory. Rumors abound that he is planning another campaign for State Assembly in 2020.
